Bennett University launched Huawei’s exclusive tech club Harmony OS for its BTech students. The club will give Bennett students the chance to learn advanced technology and be open-source contributors. The club intends to improve students’ employability across top MNCs and provide opportunities to learn from industry experts.

Harmony OS is a distributed operating system developed by Huawei to run on multiple devices with a focus on collaboration between smart devices.

Huawei contacted Bennett University and offered to start a club for aspiring students. They were thrilled to learn about the academic, professional interests and endeavours of the BTech students at Bennett, particularly in the areas of Android OS, IOT where they had already worked on during projects. Huawei was willing to Start HMOS Student Club at Bennett University as an extension to their Application Library Engineering Group community to create an ecosystem of HMOS in the university itself.

Talking about the functioning of the club, Raghav Gupta, Ambassador of Club Harmony OS, said, “This club is one of the only clubs that will not focus on occasional activities/events. Rather we will conduct daily classes conducted by Huawei experts teaching them. This is one of the best opportunities to start with a great career in a new domain.”

The club intends to conduct Android training for the students with a proper week-wise schedule and structure, where they will be provided with a training curriculum and android libraries. This will help them with self-learning mechanisms. After getting done with the android schedule, there will also be an Application Coding Contest (Hackathon) with many big surprises and prizes, which is planned to be organized in the last week of September tentatively.

“We at Harmony OS Student club expect from students the willingness and eagerness to learn Android and IOT related technologies which will help them be ready for industrial projects and internships in the future. Any basic knowledge related to Android, IOT will be the key ingredients of their journey with Harmony OS Student Club. But not having basic knowledge will also not be an issue since we will be going to start from scratch by providing them with Android training and libraries for self-learning purposes,” added Shubham Garg, President of club Harmony OS.
