A day full of 'Jhol'

By Sharva Srivastava

Exams have always been scary for me, I used to have sleepless nights, anxiety, stress, full of low confidence in school but used to score decent marks after cribbing and crying to my parents. My expectations grew in college, as my elders always used to tell me “College main toh maze Hai.” But college gave me a reality check in no time.

So, what, and how do you imagine exams like?

Probably a room full of books with sleepless nights full of tension. Honestly, that is what an authentic exam should be like!

But it was not the same with me.

Our professor shouted on the first day, “Guys gear up for the event management exam, “Jhol 4.0.”

But the question here was what is ‘Jhol 4.0’?

So, it is our event management exam wherein we must put our sleepless nights, endless fights, group discussions, brainstorming, grading, brands, hierarchy, catfights, fashion, acting, and singing into action.

Jhol 4.0 was personally my favorite event in semester 4, because I did a lot of multitasking at one time, whether it was scripting, directing, receiving guests, stage management, or performing, everything for me was an experience. Jhol was chaos in literal meaning, but a positive one for me, we kept all our angst, ego, and fights in a corner and made our event/exam a success.

And finally, the best part for me was when the whole class danced together on Malhari, carefreely, and Ma’am announced that Jhol 4.0 was the best in years, it still gives me goosebumps.
