Argentina and Panama faced off in a friendly football match on March 23, 2023. The game, which took place in El monumental Stadium , home of River Plate FC in Buenos Aires, was expected to be a one-sided affair, with Argentina being the heavy favorites as it was Argentina’s first game after being crowned as the world champions However, Panama put up a strong fight, and the match turned out to be a closely contested affair.

It was a full-house in El Monumental as the match was to be followed by a World Cup celebration by the Argentinian team in front of their home fans.

The match was hugely dominated by the Argentinian side who registered 26 shots compared to only 2 registered by Panama, it was the heroics of the Panama goalkeeper José Guerra who kept the scoreline 0-0 at the half time mark.

Just when it felt like the match was going to be stalemate it was the Argentine Talisman and arguably the greatest Footballer of all time, Leo Messi who stood up to the occasion with a wonderful free-kick which rebounded of the post and fell perfectly for Thiago Almada who dispatched the ball at the back of the net giving Argentina a much deserved lead.

The game was almost over when Messi decided to give a final send off gift for all his Fans by scoring a sublime goal, this time over Leonel Messi made sure that the ball goes directly into the net and curled the free-kick into the top right corner giving the Panamanian Keeper no chance.

This gave Argentina a 2-0 lead which was the eventual result of the match. With match getting over the World Cup victory celebration kicked and it went on till late at night.
