Batting attacks of top 2 teams after the IPL 2023 auction?

By Khushi Mittal

Since its beginning in 2008, the IPL has produced a number of batters of the highest calibre. The same will hold true for the upcoming season, when all 10 organisations have a potent lineup that includes some all-time greats.

On that note, we rank the batting units of top 2 franchises for IPL 2023.

#2 Chennai Super Kings - 9/10

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK), a club with a wide range of alternatives at their disposal, will be viewed as one of the most explosive batting groups in the 2017 competition. When compared to other IPL teams, Chennai Super Kings' batting strength may reach as far down as No. 9 or even No. 10 if Kyle Jamieson is used in place of Maheesh Theekshana.

The first mainstay at the top of CSK's batting order will be Ruturaj Gaikwad. The team can also use Ben Stokes, who can bat anywhere in a 20-over game, or Devon Conway in addition to Gaikwad.

Before captain MS Dhoni and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja handle the finishing duty, an experienced middle order of Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, and Shivam Dube will be in place.

Shaik Rasheed, Nishant Sindhu, and Rajvardhan Hangargekar are among of the young players from the Indian U19 squad to keep an eye on when it comes to backups. Picking Ajinkya Rahane at his base price from the list of reliable Indian acquisitions allows them to break their left-handed lineup streak while also providing Ambati Rayudu with a seasoned Indian backup.

#1 Mumbai Indians - 9.2/10

The Mumbai Indians (MI) will once again be a batting squad to be reckoned with thanks to a solid Indian core and a group of hard-hitting international dashers. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan will bat first in a star-studded batting order. The two are well acquainted, and their chemistry can undoubtedly set the tone for MI. Suryakumar Yadav, who had a stellar year with India and scored 1164 runs at an impeccable strike rate of 187.4 over 31 T20I innings, is Mumbai's third best T20 batsman in recent memory behind Rohit and Kishan.

Australian hotshot Cameron Green, who was acquired by the team for a windfall of 16.25 crore, strengthens MI's middle order. The possibility of Green and Tim David concluding the innings for Mumbai might be too alluring to pass up if they can place Green in the ideal position in the middle order.

Not to mention, MI will want Tilak Verma to be placed in the centre of the sequence. The left-hander from Hyderabad had a great IPL 2022, scoring 397 runs at an impressive average of over 36 and a strike rate of 131.Dewald Brevis and Tristan Stubbs, two of South Africa's most potent young hitters, call MI their home, but the team's advantages don't end there. In the event that MI decides to go with just one overseas bowling option, one of the two can be featured in the starting XI.

Ramandeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod, two Indian backup batsmen who can both bat at a strike rate above 140, are the team's two remaining batting alternatives for the five-time IPL winners.
