Choose it Wisely

Students across the nation are celebrating as the season of exams comes to an end, unaware of the fact that a new problem is already standing at their doorsteps. The most stressful time in any student’s life, which have a significant impact on their future, i.e., “Career Selection.” After completing the 12^th grade, many students face the daunting task of selecting their career path and hunt a perfect college they may want to attend.

Nowadays there are many options available for the students to choose from but making a right choice is very important and overwhelming at the same time. Due to the lack of information and proper guidance students face many difficulties and disadvantages while taking the decision. This leave students feeling lost and unsure about their feelings. Additionally, many students from the low-income families may not have access to recourses like the internet which make it more difficult during the stream selection. Even many schools do not provide the adequate counseling sessions, which help students and navigate them to the right path during the most important phase of their life. Furthermore, the pressure to make the right choice can lead to anxiety and depression, as the student may feel like they are unable to live up to the expectations of themselves and the others.

The process of selecting a career and college can be a long and difficult one. It requires a great deal of research, planning and preparation. Students must consider their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as their interests and passion to make the best possible decision. Parents should also support their children and their decision rather than pressurizing them to pursue their parents’ dreams. It is also important for the schools to provide students with the support and resources they may need during this big phase of their life. By doing so, we can ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed and thrive in their chosen careers and colleges.
