Frustration: A barrier to success

By Adrija Chakraborty

Do you ever feel the need to just pull your hair out because of frustration? The need to just shut everything and everyone off. The urge to just leave everything behind for a few days so that your mind gets a much-needed rest.
Frustration is an emotion which can be triggered due to the unwanted change of surroundings if it does not go according to your plans. It may be a change of plans or a situation or even a failed attempt at any small try-out, the unfulfilled expectations and obstacles to achieve your goals. You feel like being stuck in a loop inspite of working hard and dedicating your time towards your goal. Even the surge of jealousy can be frustrating when you see others achieving and celebrating the victory over the same goal.
Most of us think that it’s a feeling we get for a fleeting moment. But frustration can be a cause for mental damage for a long time. It can be hard to deal with. The emotions get out of control, and you feel it even if you do not want to.
The human brain is a complicated piece of art. It backfires if you overwork yourself. So, just take a chill pill whenever you feel exhausted or frustrated. Reassessing and re-evaluating a particular target or changing a certain pathway of making the ends meet might also help. Giving up is not an option. For reaching those ambitious goals, we should motivate ourselves and face whatever challenges is thrown towards us.
