My first Drag Race Season is Underwhelming!

Season 7 of drag race has been called one of the most underwhelming season of all the drag race seasons at present with the most exciting cast. Now when I first saw it was the first openly queer show I had ever seen. I didn’t even know how the other seasons where; all I knew was that this was the epitome of drama creativity and reality TV I had ever seen. I had just started on my journey as a queer person myself at the time, to be very honest I had just started to have the thoughts that I was queer myself and was not aware of my feelings at all. Being able to see so many queer people living a doing what they love the love the most without any doubts or regret, was eye-opening for me.

So, everything was exciting to me, the first challenge, the first runway and the first ‘Lip-sync for Your life’. The format of the show was just as I wrote earlier. The queens will compete in a challenge every week and then do a runway presentation of a theme given to the that week and then they are judged based on their challenge performance and runway presentation and the queen who does the best will be awarded the weeks win. However, it is a competition so, the 2 queens who performed the worst compared to every contestant present will have to do a lip-sync performance against each other and the one that wins that lip-sync gets to stay in the competition. And in my opinion, everything was just perfect. Nothing could’ve been done better, and the outcome was just the way it should’ve been.

Will my opinion be different now that I have watch all the seasons? Maybe. But that also may be affected by the fact that I’ve seen multiple Drag race theories and analysis videos. All I know that season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race was the best thing I had ever seen.
