Self-Healing

By Sumaira Berry

This is for anyone who is having a hard time right now.

Firstly, can I just say that I'm so damn proud of you that you've pulled so far and that my heart goes out for you for not giving up each time when you felt like there will never be a tomorrow!

I won't ask you to try to just forget everything and move on like nothing ever happened, no, not at all.

Its okay if you feel like just cutting off from everyone, it's okay if you feel like you're lonely and that no one understands you.

ITS OKAY. You're allowed to feel whatever you're feeling because it's your pain and you truly understand it more than anyone else ever can. This is your pain , you're experiencing it and you're allowed to take as long as you need to heal and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Ironically, when we start to get better, we also often get sad-- because we start to realize how much we've missed out on, how badly certain people failed us, what the younger version of us actually deserved.

Healing involves healthy grieving. No way around it.

I know how difficult sometimes it feels to understand what's going on around you and how painful it is to constantly tell yourself to be "normal" in front of your family and friends when all you want to do is bury your face in a pillow and scream the life out of your lungs.

Okay here's the thing, while being in that place of self guilt, blame and doubt which makes you think that it's all because of you and that maybe you deserve this pain, can you tell yourself that then maybe you deserve happiness too?

You're enough , you've always been enough and you deserve all the happiness and love that you keep giving to the people around you. Trust me, your own-self needs that love, care, understanding from you right now, and so just for once try and stop being harsh on yourself and give all that love to yourself. You deserve to be treated like the queens and kings that you are. Dont settle for less darling, just don't, you don't deserve anything close to that energy.

Lastly, and most importantly, don't give up on the bloody strong person that you're becoming. Like countless times before this, you can and you will get through this.

Remember, you're not alone in this and this too shall pass.

Love.
