Why should we try learning less about others and more about ourselves?

By Parkhi Mahajan
We live in an era where Instagram rules! The irony is that nobody wants to reveal their true selves and would rather show their ideal version which is just limited to their minds. It’s high time we start giving others and ourselves a break from this unreal game. Because, the truth is that the real word is nowhere close to what it appears to be on your home pages.Waking up and checking what someone (who does not matter to you) is wearing is crazy. People tend to put what they’re doing or eating, every time they go out on their social media handles. Comparison is very much human nature but learning to control these emotions is also a whole process. But using these platforms for six hours a day, is disrupting what you truly feel. These sites are used by most used for pass time, which is quite okay, but using them as your escape or out of curiosity to just get an slight hint about what someone is doing is not very great. You might not realise it at the moment but social media is also the reason of overthinking, less sleep and anxiety. Having said that, it breeds ground for drama and conflicts which can be avoided. At the end of the day, petty things like these distract you from what you want to do in life to. We all need to focus on making our relationship better and stronger with ourselves.
