Aalekh 2k24: A beacon for budding authors

The first day ofAalekh 2k24 featured Sahitya Akademi winner Mridula Garg and motivational speaker, best known for his book "You Can Win," Shiv Khera , as the chief guests. The two delivered powerful talks and shared motivating stories from their early lives that changed their outlooks and careers.
Mridula Garg has written over 30 books in Hindi, including novels, short story collections, plays, and essays. Khera, apart from being an author, is also a well-known activist.
Aalekh isBennett University ’s official debating and literary club, Cerebrum’s flagship event. As the biggest annual literary event of the university, it provided an opportunity for professors and students across all academic schools to release their books in the presence of esteemed authors. This year, more than 10 faculty members presented their books during the book release ceremony, and a student, Akshat Dubey from the School of Computer Science, had his book "Bounce Back" released.
“Students publishing books tell us that there are still people in our generation who will continue to read for a long time to come,” said Pranavi Ambati, student convener of Aalekh 2k24.
As the book ceremony concluded, guests, faculty members, and students made their way towards the German Hangar where 'Cerebrum' had organized a two-day-long book exhibition. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of Bennett University, Ajith Abraham, allowing students to explore books from some of the biggest publishers. “Every time we hold a book exhibition, we do it to support the publishers, authors, and readers,” said Kushagra Joshi, co-convener of Aalekh 2k24.
Notable publishers such asPenguin , Harper’s Collins, Bloomsbury , and Cambridge University Press have set up their stalls, offering their best-selling books with discounts to the students and faculty of Bennett University.
