Subsequently, students visited the sound recording studios and kiosks of the radio station, met RJs Udit-Vidit in the studio where they were creating content for a LIVE bulletin and took a tour of the plush, cubicles of the office of Radio Mirchi.

As Ms. Sharanjit Kaur waited to take the students on a tour of the three news channels that were working from the second floor office of the Times building in Film City, students eagerly visited and clicked photographs of the office outside and clicked selfies at diverse locations on the way.

One of the floor producers at Times Now briefed the students about how news is gathered and produced right from the input desk, output desk, reporting, anchoring and building the rundown to finally airing content for a LIVE bulletin. They visited the graphics desk, output desk, input desk, production control room (PCR) as they watched how the office staff ran from one corner to the other to make the stories on time. In the meantime some old students- Palak Soni, Medha, Ishika, Deeksha Tripathi came forward and wished their teachers talking about how they were enjoying their work at the news organization.

Finally, all students were elated at meeting Rahul Shivshankar, prime time news anchor of Times Now who gave a very good lecture on what constitutes news and how his experience as newsperson compelled him to think beyond 7Cs of communication- he spoke about 3Ss. Rahul Shivshankar highlighted the importance of skepticism, selectivity and story selection being the main criteria as he viewed every news from these perspectives. He mentioned how viewing a news with skepticism helps him understand the hidden agendas behind a news item, while selectivity makes him more choosy about stories, and story selection is done with care to ensure every story is weighed before it finally finds its way into a news bulletin.

As he motivated the students to feed on good content, documentaries, shows and movies, students asked him questions about how he manages to deal with conflicts and opinions at the news desk to which he said there’s always a good result after brainstorming diverse ideas within a team where every view is respected.
