‘Believe in India’ is the mantra as BU begins session
Tech entrepreneur Amit Ganjoo was the chief guest.

Bennett University , Greater Noida, started its Freshers’ Welcome Week 2020 online on Monday, October 19, with students, faculty and other staff joining in virtually to kick off the new academic session.
Guest of honour on the occasion,Bhavish Aggarwal , co-founder and chairperson of Ola Cabs , shared his experience with students and stressed they should believe in themselves and “believe in India”.
He told students to pursue their dream careers but have their parents’ consent too.
Asked about his line of work, he said the future of mobility is in electric vehicles as they are non-polluting.
Dr Milind Padalkar, dean, student affairs, also welcomed the chief guest,Amit Ganjoo , who is founder and CEO of ANRA Technologies , a company engaged in use of drones to improve services. He said the future belongs to India and “there is immense potential in the aerospace field”.
Earlier, vice-chancellor Dr RK Shevgaonkar, in his welcome address, gave a vivid description of BU and underlined that it is among India’s youngest universities. Established in 2016, it has world-class faculty and state-of-the-art infrastructure, he said.
Since most of the students at the session were from bachelor’s degree courses, the V-C also outlined the changes they would see vis-à-vis their school life. He said that university is a less controlled environment and needs more self-accountability. Therefore, by the time students graduate from university, they would transform into responsible citizens besides being outstanding professionals, he added.
Dr Rama S Komaragiri, dean, academics affairs, shared details about the teaching patterns, credit system and course design. More details were then shared by deans and heads of respective departments. Emphasis was laid on international partnerships and the university’s achievements so far.
The welcome session concluded with Dr Komaragiri thanking the participants and the guests.
