BU students celebrates 75th R-Day with patriotic films

Bennett University ’s Movie Club, Sunset, organized a special screening of four patriotic films - Uri , Border , Chak De India , and Rang De Basanti for the enthusiastic student body, in tribute to India’s 75th Republic Day . The choice of these films resonated with the spirit of the occasion, showcasing tales of valor, sacrifice, and unity.
Sunset’s Joint Secretary, Gaurav Chaudhry, said, “We chose to screen Uri, Border, Rang De Basanti, and Chak de India for their diverse themes and cultural significance. These movies resonate strongly with audiences due to their patriotic narratives, historical context, and valor of the Indian Army.” The screening provided students with the opportunity to revisit some of Bollywood’s most memorable patriotic masterpieces, creating an immersive experience that resonated with the essence of the Republic Day celebration. Gaurav adds, “The audience response was overwhelmingly positive. They were deeply engaged, discussing the films, and enjoying the experience together. It was heartening to witness their enthusiasm and connection with the stories portrayed.”
Students at Bennett University were visibly excited about the choice of movies. One student, Shreya Singh Chandel from the School of Media, exclaimed, “Watching Uri on the big screen gave me Goosebumps. It is incredible how these movies still manage to evoke such strong emotions even after all these years. The audience was not only captivated by the on-screen performance but also moved by the underlying message of patriotism, courage, and resilience portrayed in each film.”
