A bonfire night was organised on 14th November by the sports department of Bennett University to welcome the students, who returned to the campus after a gap of almost two years.

The event began at 9:30pm with an open mic followed by a lucky draw and finally DJ, which got everyone grooving around the bonfire, beating the chilly wind.

The opening set was performed by Mehal Srivastava, a fourth-year B-Tech student, who played the guitar and jammed to ‘Tera Yaar Hoon Main’ making everyone relive the memories and beauty of friendship.

Getting everyone into the mood with a rather soothing musical start, he was followed by ‘Rapper’ Shivani, a third-year BA-JMC student who drew each one’s attention with her energy.

Next up was another third-year BA-JMC student, Khushi Chabbra, who read out a piece on friendship followed by Kalindi Kumar, a third-year B-Tech student, who recited poems on love, making the audience emotional.

However, Anmol Singh, another third-year BA-JMC student and club Advaita’s secretary, succeeded in changing the mood of the night and got everyone singing along as she hit the notes with ‘Chance with you’ by Mehro.

Saving the best for the last, Vinayak Joshi, a third-year B-Tech student, was the show-stealer of the event as he caught everyone’s attention with his humour. Oblivious to the surrounding, everyone was all ears as he spoke and burst out in laughter as he finished his piece.

The open mic, which saw many others showcase their talent, was followed by a lucky draw.

Proving to be the luckiest, Sonalika Singh, a third-year BA-JMC student was the winner of the lucky draw. She received an Amazon voucher worth Rs 1,500.

The first runner-up,Vansh Bansal, a third-year B-Tech student, won an Amazon voucher worth Rs 1,000 and was followed by Pranjal Bhardwaj, another third year B-Tech student, who won an Amazon Voucher worth Rs 500.

The event ended with the DJ, which got everyone grooving to the tunes and beats of Bollywood until the security guards came at 11:30pm signalling that it was time to go back to the rooms and cherish the memories that were made.
