BPIT and Jindal soar through Sportikon qualifiers

In the qualifying matches of cricket, students from Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology (BPIT) faced off against Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management (MAIMS) in the first match, while Hindu College clashed with OP Jindal Global University in the second match, marking the inaugural day of Sportikon 2.0.

In the first encounter, BPIT won the toss and chose to bat, setting a target of 113 for MAIMS. Despite a formidable effort from MAIMS, BPIT emerged victorious, with a final score of 112 runs in the first innings. BPIT's captain, Utkarsh Rana, expressed his excitement, stating, "The team is playing great, we're loving the facilities and the atmosphere of the tournament."

The second innings saw BPIT's continued dominance as they bowled out MAIMS for 106 runs, securing their spot in the next round. The MAIMS captain, Harris Mudgal, acknowledged their performance, saying, "Our team played great, we'll surely be looking forward to the next Sportikon to make it further and fight harder".

In the day's second match, Hindu College won the toss and opted to bat against OP Jindal Global University. Hindu's initial innings showcased their prowess, posting a challenging total of 117 runs in 15 overs. Aadi Aneja, the team captain, expressed pride, stating, "We're so proud of the team and looking forward to the next innings, we're confident in our performance".

However, OP Jindal's response in the second innings was formidable. The team, led by captain Anuj Kumar, dominated with a stellar performance, chasing down the target with 7 wickets to spare. Anuj Kumar, the captain of OP Jindal's team, exuded confidence, "I always trusted the performance of my team; I knew we would make it out on top."

The MVP of the first match was Utkarsh Rana, the captain of BPIT and the MVP of the second match was Anuj Kumar from OP Jindal University. The thrilling matches set the stage for an exciting Sportikon 2.0, with teams showcasing their skills and determination on the cricket field.
