BU students sweep top awards at IIIT Delhi
Ansh captivates its audience with light-hearted performance at IIIT Delhi

The students atBennett University emerged victorious at various competitions at Odyssey’24, the annual fest of Indraprastha Institute of Technology , Delhi. The final rounds held on 19th and 20th of January 2024 gave Bennett University winners in categories like actings, instrumentals, photography and open mic.
Ansh, the acting club of the university backed first position in Improv Fiesta. At this competition, the team of 5 students had to prepare an original script on the given prompt within 6 minutes. Ansh portrayed their take on How they would pitch movie ideas to Virus, a character from the 2009 film 3 Idiots.
“The news of us winning the first prize felt unreal yet euphoric. Knowing how capable my team was, I knew we would ace this act. We focused on comprehending the topic well and presenting as many references as possible. Considering other colleges were also doing their best we did get a little worried, however we trusted our preparation and spontaneity,” said Sanya Bhattacharjee, Joint Secretary, Ansh.
The students at the university also showed exceptional performances at other performing arts competitions like, the Unmute: Open Mic, where Ankita Dwivedi and Ghanishtha Jodha of BAJMC Sem II won third place at Hindustani Poetry and English poetry respectively. Along with this Bennett University proved to be a house of talent with Jayesh Anand of BTech Sem II winning second position at Rang-e-Raga, the Classical Solo Instrumental competition. Siddarth Rishi, BTech Sem IV, brought the University, it’s final win at the Odyssey’24 with third place at Tasveer-e-Darbaar, the photography competition.
The participants went through an initial priliminary round where they were later shortlisted for the finals. Bagging prizes at one of the grandest fests in the region, Bennett students have now given a platform for their collegemates to follow, as they await more such chances in the future.
