Ashvani wins ShuttleBug Senior Final Championship
Dr. Ashvani Kumar of Physics Department won the ShuttleBug Badminton Championship defeating Dr. Abhinav Chaturvedi in the final on September 10.
Dr. Kumar won the first set 21-13 and the second set, 21-8. “The match was very intense specially in the first half of every set. Abhinav played really well and it was great fun,” said Dr. Kumar, winner of the tournament.
Students were assigned as the referee and service judge. Sanidhya Sharma (BBA, 2nd year) was the referee and Rahul Garg (B.tech 3rd year) was the service judge. “The rallies were pretty amazing, it was a one sided match but both the players played equally well, though in the end it was all about the stamina that made the difference,” said Sanidhya Sharma.
