Blue Moon 5.0: Students dance their heart out from home
By Prakshali Tiwari

This has been an abnormal year for first year Bennettians with the pandemic disrupting life.

Still, the Bennett University kept its promise to organize the Freshers Party, Blue Moon 5.0. The much-awaited annual event was staged online on the 16th January 2021. The event was broadcasted live on YouTube.

And like every such event, the heart and soul were cultural performances- dance, music and even a short film.

Perhaps the most memorable was the item dished out by the two dancing enthusiasts belonging to the two well-known BU clubs- Rivaaz and Verve. It was reminiscent of the emotions of ‘dance your heart out’ on the beats of Bollywood mashups. Furthermore, there were individual performances by the core team members of the two clubs.

Their enthusiasm and the song selection gave every fresher a gnawing desire to hit the campus as soon as possible.

The dramatics club of BU, Ansh, screened a short film that was widely appreciated by freshers and seniors.

The singers measured up to the quality of performances on offer. Beautiful, heart-warming, and soothing melodies by the members of Advaita, the music club of BU, teased imagination and left a feeling of wanting more. Perhaps even a live performance by the group!

Organizing a festival such as Blue Moon is a difficult exercise in an online mode. Yet the Bennett Student Council accepted the challenge and rustled up a show that was memorable for both, freshers, and seniors. For most freshers there is now a longing to get one’s feet on the campus and experience what a college life looks like.
