It began as a college project but when they presented their findings, the company was so impressed with their work, that it offered all the six students’ internships with the company. A group of six 2nd year BA (Journalism & Mass Communication) students from Bennett University were assigned to work on a 360-degree marketing strategy for a brand of their choice for their advertising class.

The students worked on a strategy for Radcliffe Hygiene, owners of the brand Pee Safe. After their college presentation was done, the students were advised by the faculty to approach the company and present the project to them. The company agreed to hear them out and at the end of the presentation, they were given the opportunity to work with the company. Vikas Bagaria, CEO & Founder of Pee Safe said, “A bunch of students from Bennett University did a report on Pee Safe projects and we just loved it. They got internships with us.”

“From day one, I had measurable objectives I wanted to achieve, and my biggest aid was my team. The people you work with help you decide the direction of your outcome,” said Ashima Choudhary, who worked on media scheduling and helped in proposing the ad campaign for the assignment.

Ashima, along with Ritvik Kapoor, who worked on scheduling and creatives, organized a meeting with the CEO via LinkedIn and got a generous response from him.

“We were lucky that he responded, encouraged us and found time to invest in our project by joining us for the interview,” says Omanshi Sabharwal, who worked for the PR events and communication activities.

The team worked hard for weeks and after approval from Prof. Anvesha Sharma, they pitched the presentation to the Pee Safe team in Gurgaon. “All of them were so shocked and told us that they had not expected second year students to do such amazing work,” said Dashamnoor, who worked for PR events for the assignment. “Later, Mr. Bagaria called us and told us that his team does not get impressed this easily, and he gave us the opportunity to do a paid internship with his team.”

The six students were thrilled to hear this news. “Getting this offer has encouraged me to reach the stars. I am grateful that my efforts, Ms Anvesha’s truth bombs and the brainstorming meetings bore fruit,” says Ashima.

“I went with no industry experience and lots of butterflies in my stomach, however, after presenting our work, I stepped out as someone who gained confidence in my abilities, given that we were offered paid internships in departments of our interest,” says Omanshi. “The adrenaline made the moment a blur yet it is something I would cherish for life.”

“I never expected to get an internship at such a reputed firm at such a young age,” says Dashamnoor. “Getting this opportunity offers a lot of scope for growth and experimentation,” adds Ritvik.

This was a proud moment not just for these students but also for the University and the Times School of Media.
