Faculty plays water polo at Bennett Univ
Students and faculty got an opportunity to play in the same team at Bennett University, where a water polo match was organized. The match, which was held on Thursday, was originally planned for the faculty. However, after witnessing a poor turnout over on the faculty’s side, the sports committee of the university decided to open up the match for the students as well.

The match was won 10-4 by the Orange Dolphins who were led by faculty member Shaliendra Shukla. Green Sharks, who were the runners-ups, were led by faculty member Suneet Gupta. Coincidently, both the team captains were the only faculty members that actually showed up for the match initially.

Out of the ten goals scored by the Orange Dolphins, six were put through by swimming Coach Ankit Kumar thus making him the highest scorer of the match. “I hope they organize more matches I this, playing with the students was a completely different experience than teaching them. Now, I actually see how much they have grown,” said Ankit.

Boys Hostel Warden, Sameer Aliawadi, who joined the game in the second half, said, “We were tied 4-4 when I joined the game, however, through teamwork and determination we are able to completely outclass the competition.” In an attempt to motivate the losing side Sameer said, “If you guys hadn’t lost then we wouldn’t have won, and we thank you for helping us with that.”

Varnika Sharma, a second-year BAJMC student who played for the Orange Dolphins, said, “It was the first time that we got an opportunity to play with our faculty and it was fun seeing them showcase talents that they usually keep out of class.”
