Unveiling heroes: TSOM's journey with Jai Hind project
Mr. Vineet addressing the students

By Medhansh Das
Times School of Media (TSOM) has initiated a series of interactive sessions called 'Going Beyond Spectrum,' which focuses on a more holistic approach to personal and professional growth. For the inaugural session, the guest speaker was Vineet K.K.N 'Panchhi,' a poet, filmmaker, and the founder of the Jai Hind Project, was invited to address students.

The initiative is led by the TSOM Placement Board. Based on a quote “The opposite of a hero is not a villain; it's a bystander" by Matt Langdon, the Jai Hind Project initiative aims at highlighting the stories of everyday heroes who are making a difference in India.

Coming from the world of advertising and media, Panchhi decided to contribute to the Indian society by becoming a social worker and making a change and hence not becoming a “bystander”.

The session rightfully named “Heores OR Villians” was attended by students of both mass communication and films. In the session Vineet delved into the philosophy of evil, morality, heroism and what it means to take risks for the greater good.

Conducted by the placement board the session was highly interactive and successful with students showing keen interest in the concepts being discussed. Panchhi also showcased some short films made by the Jai Hind Project and gave the students the opportunity to join this noble cause through an internship that the Jai Hind Project is providing.

Panchhi’s Jai Hind initiative aims to introduce ‘India’ to ‘Bharat’ through unique shorts of unsung heroes from different corners of our country. To know more and support this project click here to subscribe to their YouTube channel.

Mr Vineet was then gifted with some memorabilia and presents prepared by the TSOM students themselves, marking an end to one of surely many such insightful sessions more to come in the future as a part of the Going beyond Spectrum.
