How a college student started a 6-figure business
Ashu, Founder and CEO of Listening Stories Untold
By Shobhit Gupta

She is just a teenager in her second year of undergraduate studies but runs a successful business. What started as an Instagram page has turned into a full-fledged enterprise for Ashu during the pandemic.

Ashu, a second year BBA student of the School of Management, Bennett University, started her Insta page, A Lone Wolf’s Diary, in 2017. At that point, she never imagined that it could help her earn in 6-figures. Her page has now it became a one-stop place for tarot readings, business & life coaching and more.

A Lone Wolf’s Diary was all was about her poems, quotes, and short stories. She had no intention to create a business out of it. Then, she got into the world of self-development in 2018 and started posting content about trauma, depression, etc. on the page. Gradually, people started reaching out and asking her questions related to how they can improve their life. And she began coaching people for free.

During the pandemic, she completed a course on life coaching in June 2020, learnt tarot reading, astrology, numerology. Within three-months, she was able to turn this into a business by monetizing her coaching sessions with a minimal charge. She transformed A Lone Wolf’s Diary into her new venture, Listening Stories Untold. Her instagram handle offers life coaching courses and mentoring classes for young business entrepreneurs. By November, her earnings went from INR 2500 per month to INR 50000 per month.

“I know first-hand how difficult it can be being a woman entrepreneur. But it was a fantastic way to learn the ins and outs of doing business and managing academics simultaneously,” she says. “On my platform, one can find all self-development tools ranging from tarot reading, astrology, numerology and fighting trauma and depression.”

She started Listening Stories Untold with a goal to help people by listening to the stories about their habits, thinking patterns, and whatever came to their minds. She has helped over 40 people, achieve their goals, and find out the reason that have been holding them back.

Ashu shared the experience of a young entrepreneur, Kamaljeet Kaur, who was unable to launch her group classes for aroma therapy. She was afraid that no one would sign up. But Ashu, through her sessions, coached. Kaur into believing in herself and helped her launch her first class with seven attendees.

Managing time for business and academics being a college student is a hectic task. Ashu confesses that she mostly focuses on her business but when exams are up, she clears up space to prepare for them. While sharing her plans, she said, “I want to impact 1,000 people this year and go on to write books which would be beneficial for entrepreneurs.”
