Bennett 's University's much awaited annual cultural fest Uphoria has started off with a bang and is filled with fun competitions and amazing opportunities for all university goers. As all of Bennett's clubs and committees geared up to host their events at the three day cultural extravaganza the university's media club- Isac wasn't far behind.
On Uphoria's very first day the club organised 'Reel It In' an offline reel makingcontest . " We wanted to provide a platform to all the aspiring filmmakers to showcase their talent and give exposure to them therefore Reel It In was organised by the Isac team. The participants have to make a 30-60 second reel on the theme- 'Uphoria through your lens'. We noted a total of 66 registrations" said Vaibhavi Agarwal, Isac's team core member and social media head.
The participants could either work individually or make teams of up to 4 members. They were asked to shoot thereels with their cameras or DSLR's within the campus, covering the cultural fest and submit their entries latest by the end of the fest's final day. Isac's team members and the student council volunteers made sure that the whole event ran smoothly.
Cinematography, creativity, originality, technicality and relevance to the topic were the criteria on which Isac's secretaries and advisors would judge the contestants' work and decide the winners. Using generative AI would lead to the contestants instant disqualification. The winner of the first prize would be awarded a cash prize of five thousand rupees whereas the first runner up would receive a prize of INR two thousand rupees.
For the remaining two days of Uphoria, Isac has planned other fun events too. It is hosting 'Pixel Perfect'- an offline graphic design competition and 'Impromptu Frames' which is an on the spot photography contest at Bennett University.
