Kabaddi champion Pardeep Narwal, who is also known as the 'Dubki King' believes in order to improve one's performance, one must practice as much as possible.
The kabaddi champ was in Bennett University on Thursday morning as the chief guest at the inauguration of the four-day inter-college sports festival SportIkon. Speaking to Times of Bennett, Narwal said that anyone who is interested in achieving fame will always be hungry for more and will practice harder and harder in order to achieve their goals.
Narwal appreciated the warm welcome he was given at the A-block reception of the University by the university's Vice Chancellor Dr Prabhu Kumar Aggarwal and COO Sudhandshu Verma.
Narwal, who is known for his aggressive style of playing Kabaddi, said that the style that is adopted by the player for the match depends on the situation of the match. "As one plays the sport, one learns to judge the match and understand whether to play aggressively or to use some other style," he said.
Speaking about sporting events such as SportIkon, hosted by Bennett University, Narwal said that the fact that universities organise such sporting events for sportsmen along with providing education is a very good initiative.
When asked about his sport Kabaddi, he said that he would like to see it being taken to the global level. "We see leagues being created for sports such a Cricket. We would also like to see leagues being created for Kabaddi and for it to be taken to the Olympics," he said.
In a message to the university's athletes, he encouraged them to work hard on not just their sports, but also their education.
SportIkon, which started on April 6 will end on April 9. Teams from more than 30 universities and colleges are competing in 16 different games.
