Bennett University on May 11, 2019 hosted the 30 Fbb Colours Femina Miss India 2019 state winners who left the ramp behind and took to sports to celebrate the sportsmanship within them.

The women enthusiastically participated in various sports organised by the sports department of the University. Every sport was tweaked to make it fun and exciting for the participants. They took part in seven events - Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Swimming, Water Polo, Miss Active and Iron Maiden.

“This is the third time we are hosting the models at the University for a sports day. It’s always a pleasure playing with them,” said Nandana Varshney, a volunteer for the event.

The participants warmed themselves up for every challenge they faced and kept their spirits high by encouraging each other. For each event contestants went through qualifiers.

They won titles for each event. ‘Miss Topspin’ for Table Tennis was given to Miss India Andra Pradesh 2019, ‘Miss Smasher’ for Badminton was awarded to Miss India Telangana 2019, ‘Miss Iron Maiden’ was bagged by Miss India West Bengal 2019 and the title of ‘Miss Hooper’ was secured by Miss India Jammu and Kashmir 2019.

The main event that showcased the strength and agility of the contestants was Miss Active, where they performed exercises like jumping jacks, jumping swats and running. Twelve out of 30 contestants that qualified these rounds, proved their strength by doing a plank. Miss India Sikkim 2019 won the title of ‘Miss Active’.

To add fun to swimming, the students had organised a game of water polo along with a 30-meter lap of swimming. Miss India Uttrakhand 2019 won the title of ‘Miss Athlete’ and Miss India Delhi 2019 bagged the title of ‘Miss Water Baby’ respectively.

“This was my first visit to the University. It has amazing courts and it was splendid playing here,” said Sanjana Vij, Miss India Telangana 2019.

The day ended with Bennett Nathan, Project Head, Miss India Organisation, hosting the felicitation ceremony. The chief guest for the evening was Vinod Rai, HR Head at Maruti Suzuki India Limited. He gave away the awards to the winners.

All the events were conducted by students. They also played with the State winners to keep them motivated.

Sivaji, another volunteer for the event said, “Such events help us enhance our coordination and team work. It is always wonderful to organise events for people who are such sports enthusiasts.”
