In a nail-biting finale at the Sportikon Cricket Tournament, the OP Jindal university men's team emerged victorious, claiming the Gold Medal after a thrilling encounter against Manipal University. The clash was nothing short of a cricketing spectacle, showcasing skill, determination and a fair share of heart-stopping moments.

The toss favored Jindal, and they decided to bowl first. Manipal set the stage on fire with an impressive 155/2 in 15 overs during the first innings. Anuj Kumar, the captain of Jindal, remained composed despite the formidable target. Mirroring Manipal's score, OP Jindal matched them toe-to-toe, finishing their innings with an identical 155/2 in 15 overs.

The tension escalated, leading to a dramatic super over. The intensity was heavy as Manipal, led by captain Chaitanya Singh, managed to put up 12 runs. Anuj Kumar's Jindal faced the pressure head-on, scoring 15 runs, losing two crucial wickets but taking the top spot in the process.

Anuj Kumar expressed his pride in his team's performance, saying, "I’m very proud of the team. Taking the gold home feels great, we had our teeth gritted during the super over, but I’m glad we pulled through." This sentiment resonated with the entire OP Jindal squad, showcasing the resilience that defined their journey in the tournament.

Chaitanya Singh of Manipal acknowledged the competition, stating, "Sportikon was a great tournament, I’m happy that we got the podium and now we aim for the gold next time around," Despite falling short in the super over, Manipal's spirit remained unbroken, setting the stage for future showdowns.

The MVP of the match, Vansh Tiwari from Jindal, emphasised the collective effort that led to their success, stating, "It feels great being the MVP in the finals of Sportikon. This was a team effort, and I’m glad we won because of it." Tiwari's stellar performance in crucial moments played a pivotal role in securing OP Jindal's victory.

As the final chapter of Sportikon Cricket Tournament concluded, OP Jindal celebrated their hard-fought triumph, while Manipal acknowledged their podium finish and Bennett University securing third place yesterday, setting the stage for a future chapter in the world of competitive cricket.
