Shirin, Ankan win Ping Pong Tournament at BU

Shirin Mirza and Ankan Charabarty of 1st year BTech CSE won the final matches while Arushi Mehta and Divyansh Gupta of 1st year Btech CSE won the bronze matches in the Ping Pong (table tennis) tournament, held in Bennett University in the old mess on 9th September, 2019.

All the matches started in the evening and ended at midnight. The players’ enthusiasm was laudable and students seemed interested and engaged throughout all the matches.

The bronze match was between Sonali Mehta and Arushi Mehta of 1st year B.Tech (CSE). The match was played in 5 sets. There was constant cheering from the audience for both the players. Arushi Mehta won the match with the winning point of 10-12.

Second match was a bronze match of 7 sets between Mukund Mundhra and Divyansh Gupta of 1st year BTech. Mukund won the first two sets while Divyansh Gupta won the next two. Mukund won the fifth set. Divyansh won the sixth set. In the final set, Divyansh Gupta won the Bronze match with a 3-11 win over Mukund Mundhra.

Third match for the finale was between Shirin Mirza and Tanvi Khanna of 1st year Btech CSE and 1st year BJMC. The initial sets for the match were 5. Shirin Mirza won the title with an 11-1, 11-3 and 11-9 win over Tanvi Khanna.

The last match was for the finale between Ankan Charabarty and Shouvik Chatterjee of 1st BTech. Ankan won the first set and Shouvik won the second. Ankan won the next two sets too. Shouvik won the fifth and sixth sets with the score of 11-7. Ankan Charabarty was declared as the winner for men’s finale of ping pong in the sixth set.
