Science and fun go hand-in-hand at Tech Fest

By Harshit Mansukhani & Tejaswini Mittal

Excitement and eagerness to display knowledge was visible everywhere in the Uphoria 2019 Tech Fest on Day 1.

“What we learn in our course is what we are doing here. Practical learning adds to our knowledge and makes us go the extra mile,” said Navya Singh, 2nd Year B.Tech student.

Robots, Tech and Coding

A line following robot made by B.Tech students grabbed a lot of attention.

“Our purpose is to motivate research among our peers,” said K. Manohar, 1st Year B.Tech Student.

“As part of our project, I believe that quality matters not quantity. If people can come up with small working model we will help them here,” he added.

The famous Sci-Fi movie, The Matrix, almost made its return at the coding event, Code Jack.

Students here created an online event to submit complex software codes.

“We always look for incentives in an event but people are coming because of their interest and it is great to see that interest for coding is increasing,” said Harry, 3rd year B.tech student.

Bending Science

It is not only about written theories in the book; students explored other aspects of science too.

At the Backyard Science event, students used bamboo sticks to create structures that could hold six kilograms of weight.

Students used hot glue to connect the structures and create tallest yet strongest figures.

The event threw open many questions of practical science exploration.

The student participation was good at the Uphoria’s Tech-fest on Day 1 and the students loved demonstrating their knowledge.
