What looked like a mere exercise at first glance, turned out to be a revelation for students when Aryan Jindal, head of 2023-24 Student Council, asked all members to stand on their toes at the initial briefing held on Thursday. "This is what I need from all of you - to be on your toes always as Student Council members," he said to a big applause.

At the meeting, the new Dean of Student Affairs Nidhi Sinha asserted that she would be working tirelessly with the Council to build on the legacy of the previous Council.

The structural orientation of the Council body has been revamped. Now, there are five Vice-Presidents instead of one and approximately 46 active Council members, 26 more than the previous body. “The SWO noticed that previously there were 3 VPs and one President and all the work was divided between 3 VPs. There were some departments which were not on paper, like events in hospitality and logistics. So, all the three VPs shared that work. But with the big influx of new students and the campus broadening up, there was an urgent need for the entire team to be expanded. Hence, a new department was created to cater to new needs," Jindal said.

With the advent of the Media and Innovations Wing, the newly established Student Council aims to expand its horizon and leave no room for error. “As the VP Media & Innovations, I will oversee design and media strategies, including designing flex, standees, posters, arch gates, banners and social media creatives, videography and after movies. This role also focuses on identifying and implementing innovative approaches to enhance our University's Student Council brand, engage students and drive growth through different creatives whether in the form of design or videos,” Jahnvi Raina, VP of Media Innovation, said.

After a commendable tenure of being President of the Student Council 2022-23, Arnav Batra was appointed as an advisor to the current Council. He will assist the Council in all aspects. The Council will be the face of 8,000 students of Bennett University . New DSA Nidhi Sinha anticipates that students under her guidance will deliver what is expected of them in every event, irrespective of its scale.
