Students compete in a battle of strength
Kanika Mittal, from School of Management and Tanmay Sharma, from School of Media and Liberal Arts, were declared the winners of a gymming competition, titled as ‘Strength Wars’, organised by the Sports Department of Bennett University, on September 19.
This competition was conducted to provide a platform to students to test their physical abilities and strength. Matches like these acts as great opportunities for students to push their limits and try new activities.
Fourteen boys and four girls participated in the competition. Pankaj Jhawar, second year BBA student, and also agym freak, demonstrated various exercises and techniques to the participants. All the students were eager to test their strength.
For girls the challenge was based on 4 exercises, consisting of 25 modified push-ups, 30 squats, 50 crunches and a 50 sec plank. For boys, the challenge consisted of 50 squats and push-ups, 25 parallel bars and 20 pull-ups. The heated tournament ended with a lot of sweat and hard work.
Daksh Gogia, second year Mass Communication student, who was judging the competition said, “Games like these helps release stress among students and help them stay active”. After careful evaluation, results were declared.
The girl’s team winner, Kanika said, “As I’m not a sportsperson so it ended up with a lot of aches but somehow I managed to win. I’m definitely looking forward to more such competitions.”
