Times Internet wins big at the 1st Times Sports League

Times Internet finished at the top of the leaderboard at the Times Sports League held at Bennett University on 16th and 17th February, 2019. They finished the games with 4510 points followed by the runner-ups, Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited (BCCL) at 1400 points and Times Business Solutions at the third place with 1000 points.

The Times Sports League, a first of its kind, brought together ten companies from the Times Group competing against each other in six games; Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Soccer and Cricket. It took place over two power-packed days, resulting in an exuberating experience for the players and the organizers.

The team that won Times Internet the cricket tournament was elated to have attended the league. “We were excited to have received this opportunity. Even though we were reluctant at first, we gathered our energy and enthusiasm and ended up winning the game,” they said. They also congratulated the team at Bennett University to have been able to put up such a great show.

The Sports Committee of the University put their best foot forward to prepare for the grand event both on and off the playing field. “It was an honor for Bennett University to have been able to host members from ten companies. We were as excited for the tournament as the players and hope to keep hosting such events in the future,” said Nandana Varshney, Member, Sports Committee.

The winners of each sports were facilitated in a grand closing ceremony hosted by RJ Arijit from Radio Mirchi, which was also graced by the presence of former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja. Here is the list of the winners in each of the six sports.
