The event, ‘Veer-e-Vatan', brought tears to the audience’s eyes as participants delivered their monologues. It was a hybrid event where most contestants participated online as well as on campus.
Third year BAJMC student Rajat Pawar’s emotional redition of Sardar Uddham Singh going to jail for protesting against British rule was a true example of method acting. His powerful performance of ‘Freedom is my birthright’ speech was truly one of the best.
Ansh Secretray, Omji Dubey, said, “Writing the monologue was the easy part since I was clear about what I am going to say. The challenge was to mix it with the emotions and present it. After a number of failed takes, I gave up. But then it almost felt like a responsibility so I gave it another shot. This time I acted like I was addressing a real audience. It came out well.”
Aryav Agnihotri performed live in front of the audience and brought out so many emotions all at once. “Inqalaab zindaabad, inqalaab zindaabad, inqalaab zindaabad yaara. Yeh desh hi meri kavita hai, yeh desh hi mera pagalpan hai, aur yaara tu toh jaanta hai ki main pagal hu. Main who pagal parinda hu yaara jo jail mein bhi rehkar azaad rehta,” he captured the audience’s heart by transforming into Bhagat Singh.
It was an event that captured everyone’s hearts and emotions.
