Winners of the quiz
Bennett University’s social service club, Alexis organized a ‘Friendsquiz for all the students on 11 October. Nishita Singh Bundela and Akshara Nair, both BJMC 2nd year students, won the quiz.

“It’s a big accomplishment for me. I’ve been watching friends from past 2 years. It’s like a mood buster. I throw a lot of sarcasm at people, and it is inspired by Chandler Bing, who is my favorite character. He has taught me to be funny and emotional at the time. He is the character I very much relate to, ”said Nishita.

For a good cause

Friends quiz was the second fundraiser event of the club. The main motive was to collect money so that it can be donated to a government school. “The main USP of this quiz was to raise funds. A total of 32 teams participated in the quiz, with a pair of two students per team. This quiz did better than the previous one, and it’s all because of the volunteers and the core team,” said Mayank Tripathi, Secretary, Alexis.

He also added, “Basic theme that we follow in our club, is a democracy. We don’t force tasks on people. Every time before making a decision, we take polls and make sure that we hear every student’s point of view regarding the topic. I just want students to enjoy their work and have fun. “

Follow the rules

The quiz was divided into three rounds. In the first round, students were given a piece of paper and questions were displayed on the screen. The second round was a little different. Only 12 teams qualified out of 32 for the next round and it was called Visual round, where the questions were based on videos and images shown to the participants. 6 teams qualified for the third round. Students had to guess the character of the show just by their dialogues.

Students were not allowed to use mobile phones. They were judged by the core members of the club. They were just given 20 seconds to write an answer. Participants were not allowed to interact with any other pair.

Even though the TV show was aired in the 90’s and early 20’s, it’s still a hit among youngsters. The winners were given goodies and KFC gift voucher as a prize.
