The ongoing Youth Week activities to commemorate Swami Vivekananda Jayanti saw a clutch of game competitions as part of its Day 3 activities. The Takeshi’s Castle themed sports activities were a huge draw among the student community with participants engaging in fun games like three-legged race, Tug of War and Tank to name a few.

The Bennett University Student Council organised the event in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS).

The event started at 2 pm on the university's lush football ground, with a three-legged race. As many as 25 pairs participated. Protyoya Datta and Tarun Dagar from BTech CSE bagged the first prize.

The second game was ‘Tank’ in which groups of five chained their hands and battled each other. The participted got so involved in the games that they demanded another round, “The game of Tank is fun and I will be playing another round. The organisers have put in a lot of thought and effort in making the games interesting,” CSE first year student Khushi Tanwar said.

After a short refreshment break, two rounds of Tug of War were played. The Takeshi’s Castle game in which the participants had to hop to the finish line with their feet bound by ribbons, eat a piece of cake and hop back to the start line was a big draw.

The fourth game was Red Light Green Light which had been inspired by the Netflix show Squid Game. Nikshay Dhingra bagged the first position, followed by Shreya Pandey.

A huge crowd had gathered to see the games. “We had a good time. Watching my friends fall was hilarious. It was a fun-filled week of exciting activities. I’m looking forward to the open mic on Wednesday,” first-year BTech student Keshav Sharma said.
A book on the life of Swami Vivekananda was the prize given to all winners. The day ended with an impromptu jig by the participants. “I am happy with the response of today’s event as the volunteer team worked hard to organise the games. We gained a lot of new memberships for the NSS,” second year BTech student and an NSS volunteer Jatin Singhal said.
