Hello & Welcome back to fast fashion series part 7, so today we are going to talk about the rise of online shopping in terms of fast fashion. We have an influential market these days and social media plays a vital role in promoting fast fashion which is basically influencing our generation

While I talk about myself, I definitely have a lot of influencers across my campus and looking them hopping on to the trends & changing their closet like days has made me realize that shopping is just not limited to taking rounds all over the mall but we can shop online which is effortless & most importantly serves as a time saver.

The rise of online shopping is a trend that has been growing steadily over the past decade. Though more people are turning to online shopping as a safer and more practical substitute for conventional old-fashioned retail, the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated this trend.

One of the main factors driving the rise of online shopping is convenience. With online shopping, consumers can shop from the comfort of their own homes, without having to leave the house or deal with the crowds and long lines at physical retail stores. Online shopping also offers a wider selection of products and allows consumers to easily compare prices and read reviews before making a purchase.

The expansion of e-commerce websites like Amazon, eBay, and Alibaba is another factor boosting the popularity of online shopping. Small businesses and independent sellers may now sell their goods online and reach a broader audience, all thanks to these platforms. With features like quick and dependable delivery and simple returns, they also provide customers with a smooth & easy purchasing experience.

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the growth of online shopping by creating a need for contactless shopping experiences. Customers have turned to online shopping as a safer option while physical retail outlets are operating at reduced capacity. A rise in the use of emerging technologies, such augmented reality and virtual try-ons, which let customers try things before buying them, has also been attributed to the pandemic.

The rise of online purchasing has had a big influence on retail industry, in particular. Many physical retail stores have struggled to compete with online retailers, leading to closures and bankruptcies. However, some retailers have adjusted by integrating their physical and online retail channels and providing online shopping options.

In conclusion, the rise of online shopping is a trend that has been growing steadily over the past decade, and has been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Consumers are increasingly turning to online shopping for its convenience, wider selection, and contactless shopping experience. This trend has also been influenced by the development of new technology and e-commerce platforms. While the growth of online shopping has had a big impact on the retail sector, it has also given retailers new opportunities to adapt and reach out to new customers.

I hope I gave you all some basic insights on fashion, See you all in the next blog!
