The essence of healthy eating is to consume a balanced and varied diet which includes all the essential nutrients that are carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
A healthy diet should also include fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, low levels of unhealthy and saturated fats and plenty of healthy fluids.

The nutritional benefits of healthy eating extend beyond physical benefits. A well-balanced diet has been shown to improve mood and overall health and well-being of a human body.

However, ensuring that food is safe for consumption is also essential. Food safety concerns include biological, chemical, and physical hazards that could be present in food. These hazards can arise at any stage from production to distribution.
Food safety standards exist to ensure that food is free from anything harmful and that it can be consumed safely.

Fast food, highly processed meals, and sugary drinks are examples of unhealthy eating habits that have become the norm in modern society.
