I Wish I Could Stop the Time…

BY MANSI TIBREWAL

Sometimes I yearn for the ability to halt time, so that I may fully comprehend the multitude of experiences that life has to offer. I would relish the opportunity to show appreciation to those who love me, and to cherish those who support me. To reflect on my past, present, and future, and to find peace in the present moment. It is fascinating to observe so many individuals suspended in time, as if the universe has granted them a momentary respite from the chaos of existence. I feel compelled to reach out to each one, to acknowledge their pause and offer words of comfort and encouragement.

I notice a person with a radiant smile, and I cannot help but tell them how captivating they look. I want to convey the message that their smile is a reflection of the beauty that lies within them, and that it illuminates the world around them.

I see an elderly couple, caught in a moment of tension before the pause. I want to tell them that their journey together has been nothing short of remarkable. Their commitment to each other through thick and thin has created a bond that will endure for eternity. I want to remind them that the occasional conflict is natural and even healthy, as it reinforces the strength of their relationship.

Then there is a child in tears, distraught over a fallen toffee. I want to tell them that life is full of disappointments and that setbacks are inevitable. But I also want to reassure them that every experience, even the painful ones, can teach us valuable lessons and help us grow.

Finally, I come across a group of friends laughing and enjoying each other's company. I want to tell them that they are blessed to have such a bond, as true friendships are rare and precious. As they navigate the journey of life, they may face challenges that will test their resolve. But I want to remind them that they have each other and that their bond will carry them through even the toughest of times. So, tell them that not everyone has a friend group where you all can sit together and enjoy, eventually you will grow up and be mature and in the process might lose the people the friends who are dear to your heart now. So tell them to go on with life but never forget friends as in the end everyone needs a group to gossip about your Hitler boss at work at the end of the day.

Sometimes I yearn for time to come to still,
To comprehend the chaos of our days,
To show appreciation, feel the thrill
Of life's experiences in myriad ways.

I see those frozen in a moment's peace,
A pause in time that grants a brief respite,
And to each one I offer words to ease,
Acknowledging their halt and what feels right.

A smile that shines like sun on rippling streams,
A couple's bond that's weathered time and tide,
A child's tears that speak of life's extremes,
A friendship that endures and does not hide.

So let us cherish what we have today,
And never forget to seize each moment's play.
