Self-motivation is the way forward
By Ashna Santhosh
It was not more than two months since I had joinedBennett , I could find myself trying to participate in most of the competitions that were organized by different kinds of clubs for all the programs. Though most of the time I registered my name, I could not abide by the deadline! But when the L&D committee decided to hold a declamation competition , I knew I had to at least participate and register my name.
The announcement of the declamation competition was before the Christmas holidays and so we had time to prepare for it. But like every other holiday that goes by in a jiffy, this too went fast and in the last two days, I realized that I had truckloads of assignments to finish.
So I started my research on the topic - 'Contributions of Savitribhai Phule andFatima Sheikh to education '. Frankly, I knew very little about Savitribhai and had read about her only in my history books. Fatima Sheikh was a new name to me. But as they say, every experience teaches you something, this too did.
When I read about both of these brave women and how they took the first step in opening the gates of education for girls in India, I felt proud. I knew I had to give my best. I am glad I got a chance to prepare for this speech and also hear different opinions on this topic by seniors from other courses like LAW andBTECH .
Thanks to all my fellow participants and the judges. Thank you Sunil sir, for this opportunity to share my experience!
