Bennett storms into Kabaddi semi-final

Bennett-1 topped pool A and stormed into the semi-finals of the kabaddi event on day 2 of the annual sports fest, SportIkon, with yet another emphatic win over BML Munjal University (BMU). BMU had already qualified for the semi-finals but finished second in their group with this loss.

Bennett-1 had entered the tournament as strong favourites and have rightly lived up to the expectations. In their match against BMU, Bennett’s players showed skill, resilience and perseverance as they thrashed the opponent side by a score of 46-33. “BMU is a strong team no doubt, but we never lost the grip of the match. We could have scored a lot more points but we played safe to prevent any potential injuries,” said Bennett’s team captain Pankaj.
Bennett-1 will now face the Noida College of Physical Education (NCPE) in their semi-final match. NCPE team defeated Bennett-2 in their opening match of Pool B. Bennett-2 was knocked out by Amity University by a hefty margin of 69-44. Amity’s team are being considered the second favourites of the tournament as they also topped their pool.
Bennett’s star raider, Hari, again proved his mettle as he garnered vital points for the team. Hari said, “We had great support from the crowd as always. I am looking forward to playing against NCPE. They have players that have attended national camps, so it will be fun to play against someone with so much experience.”
Bennett-1 had a great start to the match both offensively and defensively. They had a mammoth lead of 12 points by half-time and they never looked back. After the elimination of Bennett-2, it is now upon Bennett-1’s shoulders to deliver their university the glory of winning the event.
