BU students become detectives, potters and players
By Anshika Kathuria

Students of Bennett University played various roles on Day 2 of Uphoria 2020, whether it was becoming a detective for the ‘Mock CID’ event organized by Alexis, or having cards up their sleeves for ‘Bennett Royale’, an event organized by Pulse. Although, amidst all the mind work, they didn’t forget to be in touch with their artistic side, and learnt the art and importance of earthenware in the Pottery Workshop organized by Spic Macay.

Mock CID by Alexis

The day began with the legacy event of Club Alexis, Mock CID. Done for fundraising, this event sees growing participation and enthusiasm each year. A total of 20 teams, with 5 members each, competed in this event, out of which 6 qualified for the next round, the Murder Mystery held on Day 3 of Uphoria 4.0.

The event was divided into five rounds that each team had to complete in order to qualify for Murder Mystery. Students came up with creative names for their teams, like ‘Civil Disobedience’, ‘Byomkesh Bakshi’, ‘Mahabharata’, ‘Adholokam’ etc.

As fun as it sounds, it only gets better! Mock CID started from the main gate of Bennett University, and ended at the Sports Complex. More than a competition, it became a fun-filled exercise for all the participants, where they had to play ‘Kikli’, or roll the dice and take those many number of steps, or fly paper planes from one stop to another. However, it did get tough! Participants had to drink salty or sweet water and run to the finish line, where they got numbers and had to solve math equations!

Amulya Shree, Core Team Member of Alexis says “Our goal remains to come up with more creative and fun activities each year. We had a lot of fun designing this event and we’re confident that the players will too. I’m personally very happy with the response we’ve received.”

Bennett Royale by Pulse

The next event planned for the students was ‘Bennett Royale’ by Pulse. With beautiful decorations and a truly life-like set-up, the club invited students to play various card games, like teen patti, roulette, monopoly, black jack, taash, poker and many more!

“Bennett Royale was the first ever casino evening Pulse hosted and the response received was more than what we expected, people even wanted for us to extend it to day 3, which was a great compliment for all of us! I am really glad that we could pull it off so well,” says Paridhi Gupta, Joint Secretary of Pulse.

Pottery Workshop by Spic Macay

The students of Bennett University showed great brainpower and enthusiasm when it came to the games testing their mental abilities, but they were no less in exploring their artistic sides as well.

Spic Macay saw a great outcome for their Pottery Workshop. Jasmine Garewal, ceramic artist and the instructor for the workshop has the following to say about her experience of coming to Bennett University, “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed with the young, intelligent and creative minds, it’s been a truly awesome experience. Not only teaching them, but also learning a lot from them myself, so it’s a big thumbs-up.”
