February 8, 2019 marked the start of a two-day long festival at Bennett University; Uphoria 2019, the annual college fest. In its third year of running, the fest was made open to registrations from other colleges, a leap forward in the history of the fest and the university.

Great number of events were organized by the clubs at the University to keep the students and the guests engaged.

The biggest event of Day 1 of Uphoria 2019 was the Battle of the Bands by Advaita, the music club of the University. It garnered the most number of inter-college registrations with Wayward One, the band from Vivekanand Institute winning the competition.

Competitions started right in the morning, with Mock CID, an event by Alexis, the social-service club of the university. The teams competed by performing tasks, which if completed successfully won them a spot in the second round on the second day of the fest. They garnered a lot of participation and enthusiasm. “The tasks were so much more difficult that what they were sounding to be. Nonetheless, it was such a fun event, we really enjoyed participating in it,” said Ayera Choudhary, first-year law student.

A number of events, held by clubs like Cerebrum, the literary club and Silhouette, the art club, garnered a more niche audience but were a huge success. Haaris Beg, Cerebrum core team member, who organized the Pop Quiz said, “We liked how even though the number of participants weren’t that big, they were well versed with Pop Culture giving each other tough competition which makes the Quiz a success.”

Silhouette organized a colorful glass painting completion with the theme ‘Abstract Modern Art’. “It was a great event. We had a total of seven participants which also included people from other colleges. All the participants did such a wonderful job,” said Anshika Singh, Joint Secretary of the club.

Some of the other events were Spin the Yarn, a creative writing competition and Adapt the Tune by Verve, the dance club of the university.

“It is our privilege to have been able to host inter-college teams and provide them with a platform where we too can learn a lot from them. We hope to have a blast these two days and pray for the successful completion of the fest,” said Tanvi Mishra, PR Head, Student’s Council, Bennett University.
