A blood donation camp was organised by the social club of Bennett University, Alexis in collaboration with Lions blood bank on Thursday, October 17 2019. This event saw almost 400 people come forward to donate blood on campus. This included students, faculty and even the security personnel of the university. This event had begun in the morning and went on almost till late in the evening.

Blood donors filled a form and carefully read the instructions which made a person eligible for donation. Each donor went for a general medical check-up in order to know if s/he was physically fit to donate. If one qualified for donating blood, then one of the volunteers from the blood bank would begin the process.

“It is a great initiatives taken by them (Alexis). A lot of people need blood and this is a way we can actually help humanity,” said Jyoti Kumar, a student of BTech who had donated blood.

“It is a hectic task to organise the event however it gives me great satisfaction that I can do something for the society,” said Snigdha Sharma, a core committee member of the club.

“Every person who is fit and well to do should donate blood. I feel great that I am able to contribute for this noble cause, ” said Vineet Nehra, the sports officer of the university.

The students after the donation of blood were treated with juice and biscuits and were advised to consume fluids in order to make up for the loss of fluids from their body.

“We were overwhelmed to see the response of the students and the other members of the university for this camp,” said the doctor from the blood bank.
