Standing tall with a strength of 45 representatives, the Bennett University Student Council was officially bestowed with their tokens of charge at the Badging Ceremony this Friday, September 1, 2023.

The official student body at Bennett University, the BU Student Council comprises students from across various schools and batches, providing for diversity in representation and thought. Constituted after several rounds of interviews and with the intent of creating an enterprising university community, the body is tasked as being a channel of effective communication between the university administration and the student community, whose interests they stand to represent.

Guided by their mission statement, “Of the students, by the students, and for the students”, the members were already seen fulfilling their duties for an entire week before the investiture ceremony – from helping the incoming freshmen at the registration desk, to organizing various cultural events in the freshers’ week. It was thus, a proud moment for them to be collecting their badges as a mark of their work’s acknowledgement.

Among the dignitaries present at the badging ceremony for the Student Council 23-24 and who conferred upon the student representatives their badges and stoles were Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Ajith Abraham, Chief Operations Officer Mr. Sudhanshu Varma, Chief Finance Officer Rajesh Kunnath, Associate Vice President Finance Mr. Manish Gaur, Vice President Marketing & Admissions Ms. Hitankshi Thukral, and Vice President Human Resource Ms. Preeti Shah.

Also in attendance were the Dean, School of Computer Science and Engineering Technology, Dr. Abhay Bansal, Dean, School of Law Dr. Pradeep Kulshreshtha, Deputy General Manager (Administration) Mr. Abhishek Pathak and Assistant Director of Sports, Dr. Arun Kumar.

The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a cultural dance performance by Bennett University’s very own classical dance club, Rivaaz. Club members Shreya Chougule and Nimisha Gupta’s captivating presentation of the Ganesh Vandana and the Mahabharata was met with great reception.

The much-awaited moment had formally arrived and the distinguished dignitaries took to stage to award the badges and stoles to the chosen representatives – beginning with the 22 sub-Heads, 16 Heads, 5 vice-Presidents, and finally, the President and the Advisor.

Fourth year B. Tech CSE student and President of the Student Council 23-24 Mr. Aryan Jindal led his team with a pledge, affirming responsibility unto their roles. The repetition of the pledge by his team was symbolic of them pooling in their individual capabilities and striving to work as a one, under a united banner.
