Bennett University students clinched top spots in acting competitions at IIIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur, showcasing BU's excellence and adding pride to the college.

Students from the performing arts club 'ANSH' took part in a mono act and improv fiesta at IIT Kanpur and IIIT Delhi, respectively. Awiral Anadi Singh, a BA Films and Television (BAFTW) student and ANSH member, performed a mono act of Udham Singh at IIT Kanpur in October 2023. He secured the first prize in his category, receiving tremendous support from his friends and fellow club members. Excited about his achievements he said, “I am very proud to have represented BU, and I'm thrilled to bring home the winning prize with my act.”

At IIIT Delhi, five BU students—Sanya Bhattacharjee and Priyansh Pabreja from BAJMC, Pranjali Limaye from the Law program, and Maher Siddiqui from BTech—participated in an improv fiesta competition, a popular style in theatre known as improvisational theatre. In this event, multiple teams received a prompt on the spot and seven minutes to prepare before performing.

The BU team was given the prompt 'Pitching a movie idea to Virus from the movie 3 Idiots'. The talented BU students developed an idea in seven minutes and improvised live in front of an audience, earning them a cash prize of Rs. 8,000 each. 'Knowing how capable my team was, I knew we would ace this act. What we needed was to comprehend the topic well and provide as many references as possible to gain more marks," said Sanya Bhattacharjee while sharing her experience.
