BU students turn entrepreneurs for 7 days
Thirty-three teams comprising first year Bennett engineering students participated in the ‘Entrepreneurial Week’ organized by the Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Bennett University between March 7 to March 14, 2019.

Each of the 33 teams that had participated in the ‘Entrepreneurial Week’ had to set up a small startup and sustain that venture inside the campus for seven days. The ventures ranged from food stalls and movie screenings to video games and websites.

There was immense enthusiasm, and competition, too, among the students as each team tried to make its venture successful. “We learned a lot over the course of the week, mainly how difficult it is to run a venture on your own. It was a fun exercise and I would love to do something like this again,” said Ritik Agarwal, first year B-Tech student.

‘Entrepreneurial Week’ was the initiative of Dr Nidhi Sinha, Faculty, Bennett University. Talking about the motivation behind the activity, Sinha said, “The purpose was to provide students with experiential learning of sustaining an entrepreneurial venture. It was important for them to take responsibility and ownership of their venture and then work towards making it sustainable.”

The campus was abuzz with activity throughout the week. “The Entrepreneurial Week was a fresh change for everybody on campus. The campus looked alive with so many food stalls in the mess and students lining up for their bit of fun,” said Nikil Kapoor, first year BBA student.
