On February 22, more than 100 students gathered at the main gates of Bennett University (BU) to pay homage to the 40 CRPF jawans martyred in Pulwama.

First year Times School of Media students Deena Dayal, Poorva Singh Rathore and Aryaman Choudhary organized the march with the help of the student council. Dean of Student Affairs Milind Padalkar gave his wholehearted support to the tribute march.

The march began at around 4:30 pm at the main gates of BU with students waving flags and shouting slogans in honour of the Pulwama bravehearts. There was both grief and anger in their voices. After arriving at the main reception, students marched towards the sports complex.

The march came to a halt in the open green space between the C and D blocks. Once everyone settled down, the organizing committee spoke about the sacrifices made by the CRPF soldiers. “The Bravehearts of Pulwama died while keeping us safe from terror attacks. We must now do our parts to help their family by donating money. We need to give them full support at such times. All Indians are a part of one big family after all,” said Aryaman Choudhary.
Students then lit up candles as tribute to the Pulwama martyrs and observed two minutes of silence. Candles burned bright amid the silence. It was a touching moment for the students.

Dayal concluded the march by thanking students for showing their solidarity to the noble cause. “I’d like to thank everyone at Bennett for being here today and paying tribute to the soldiers and their families. It was an emotional march for all of us here. Love you guys, and Jai Hind,” he said in full voice.
