The second day of the Placement Preparedness Programme for Media students came to an end, with insights on common interview questions and stress management.

The semester five students had hands-on training on answering common interview questions and tackling them, finding the most appropriate answer and impressing your interviewer. The second-half of the session was followed with stress management exercises, insights on behavior management and mode of conduct in a group discussion.

“By having mock group discussions, I got to know how to answer questions or handle situations that I have previously been in or will face in future. It gave me a lot of perspective and clarity as to how I can deal with these discussions with any hiccups,” said Chaitanya Pramod, final year student, Times School of Media.

The agenda for the day laid emphasis on understanding the objective and expected outcome of the activities in a placement process. Students participated in the activity by becoming a part of the open table discussions, observing and learning, to understand the finer nuances of the hiring cycle.

“I think these sessions have made a change in the way I’ll approach my interviews ahead. Everybody thinks that if you are a part of the cultural clubs of the university and you’ve given interviews to crack them, then that’s it. You can now face any interview rounds but that’s far away from the reality. In a real sense, you need to have way more skills to crack a corporate interview and land-up in your dream company and that’s what we learned today,” commented Ipsitaa Bhaskar, final year student, Times School of Media.

The programme is intended to make students ready for the placement process as they near their graduation. It is being hosted by the Stalwarts of the Industry of consultancy services, Aftab, Behavioral Trainer, and Rajendra Kulkari, Founder and Director, Xplore consultancy services.
