Ex Roadies hunt for the next ‘roadie’ in BU

As part of the Roadies Campus Tour, internet sensation and ex-contestants Divya Agarwal and Varun Sood visited Bennett University on February 22, in hunt of finding the talent, courage and passion that is needed for the challenging experience the show offers.

Prominent public figures on social media platforms, the duo made sure their presence was felt in the campus. They were greeted by a large crowd of thrilled faces, all gathered to get a glimpse of the most liked roadies of all time.
It was an interactive event which saw active participation from the students. There was an ice-breaking session wherein students were asked to volunteer and give impromptu performances leaving the hosts for the afternoon awestruck with their talent. “There is so much talent amongst all of you and Roadies is the perfect platform to express it,” said an amused Divya after witnessing some energetic dance performances by the students of BU.
To be a part of the Roadies journey, students have to upload a video of themselves doing something ‘crazy’ with the hashtag- #roadiesrealheroes, that will impress the panel consisting of popular faces such as actors Neha Dhupia, Ranvijay Sinha and rapper Raftaar amongst others, said Divya. Lucky few will also get the opportunity to feature in a rap with Raftaar.

Impressed by the enthusiasm shown by the students, Varun said, “Sabka time aaega!” as he encouraged and motivated the aspiring future roadies to grab this opportunity.

A special highlight of the afternoon was when First Year student Poorva Rathore expressed her admiration for the duo and received a hug from them, making everyone in the crowd smile and hoot. “I couldn’t control my excitement as soon as I saw them and I was lucky enough to get a hug from them”.

“I follow both Divya and Varun on social media and have watched all their shows, from Roadies and Splitsvilla to Ace of Space. I am an introvert but I volunteered to perform only for my onscreen couple idols,” said Parul Raina, First Year Mass Communication student who was one of the few who performed.

The event concluded with the ex-roadies distributing the Roadies merchandise for their audience.
