“We aim to be the best media school inAsia by preparing our students for whatever the industry can throw at them for the next 10 years,” Dr Sanjeev Ratna Singh , the new Dean of The Times School of Media , said at the semester briefing to students on Thursday.
Dr. Singh is a prominent figure in India's digital broadcast industry, and has more than 23 years of experience as a journalist, editor and multimedia content producer in high ranking roles across digital, TV and print media.
Prior to transitioning into academia, he served as a Professor and AssociateDean at UPES Dehradun's School of Modern Media.
Dr. Singh discussed the importance of adapting to the ever-changing digital landscape of today’s media environment.

“Through internships, asynchronous courses and an emphasis on teamwork, we will help transform you into media professionals with an impressive resume by the end of your course,” he said to give students confidence in himself and an upward revision of the curriculum.
Talking about the rigour of 75 per cent attendance, he emphasised the importance of integrity and respect towards oneself and the institution.
“These traits will lead to the success of TSOM in the media world and help it become the first choice for any company that requires capable individuals,” he said.
His announcements were followed by a short Q & A session wherein students clarified all doubts that they may have regarding the curriculum and a class-free final semester.
At the end of the town hall, Dr. Singh gathered with the students for his first group photo of many to come with the students of theTimes School of Media .
