Cheers echoed through the court as Heroic Hearts won at the Kabaddi tournament finals against team Super Spades with a score of 82-75 on 31 January, Friday.

The Kabaddi Tournament, which took place over a span of five days, was conducted as a competition between Bennett University’s four sports Houses – Super Spades, Mighty Boltz, Heroic Hearts and Keen Kickers.

The matches provided a surge of adrenaline for the players as well as the crowd, who cheered for their favourite teams with vigour. A student, who was cheering for the teams from the bleachers, shared his experience, “I like Kabaddi as a sport. I find interesting the spirit they follow.”

The audience reflected the energetic aura of the players, shouting in support of the competing teams. The echo of over 50 spectators increased in magnitude with every high intensity moment, which occurred frequently during the span of the tournament.

Roshan Sharma, B.Tech CSE and player for Heroic Hearts, complimented the enthusiasm in the court, saying, “This is the game which has emerged in India. You can see how the players are playing here.” A few minutes short of the match end, he shared, “I can’t contain my excitement; my team is leading by 4 points, and this is the final!”

As the tournament came to its final round, team Heroic Hearts, with the aid of their team captain Vasant, successfully beat their competitor Super Spades with a seven point margin. “It was a great game. We had a tough time leading up to the finales because the opponent was the captain of Kabaddi Team – Vasant – so it was different for us,” said Kusumanth, Captain of team Super Spades.
